WVU Division of Exercise Physiology to host guest speaker

Matthew Kampert, DO, MS, ACSCM-CEP, a physician at the Cleveland Clinic with dual appointments in sports medicine and endocrinology and a graduate of the WVU Exercise Physiology program, will be a guest lecturer for the WVU School of Medicine Division of Exercise Physiology.

He will present on Thursday, May 15, at noon in Fukushima Auditorium in the WVU Health Sciences Center. The event will also be streamed on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. The Zoom link can be found here.

The event is open to all WVU community members as well as WVU Medicine employees.

During his lecture, Kampert will discuss his work as the lead architect of the BRIDGE-PROJECT, an initiative to Bridge Research & Institutes through Digitally Guided Exercise Prescriptions and Reliable Outcomes by Joining Education & Community with Technology. Kampert’s goal is to educate and assist his patients in becoming independent exercisers and leading healthier lives by bridging gaps in access to community resources, education and exercise technology.

In addition to his appointment at the Cleveland Clinic, Kampert is currently the course director of musculoskeletal medicine for first-year Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine students and is the team physician for Mayfield Heights High School.
