Community & Global Engagement

Many of our faculty continue to practice as healthcare providers in clinics, hospitals and other nonprofit organizations to provide critical services to those who need it. This “real-world” experience gives our faculty (and our students) unique perspectives because they are actively caring for patients. We have faculty-led clinics, including a local diabetes clinic, and provide mental health services to those who need it.

Students have a number of opportunities to study abroad, which can expand their understanding of global health.

Campus & Community Health Fairs

WVU School of Nursing students, faculty and alumni actively engage with members of the community to provide holistic health and wellness services, resources and education.

Whether on campus or in the community, these community health fairs commonly feature free assessments, such as blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar, temperature, wound care, height and weight, and EKG and heart rhythm; mental health resources and interactive demonstrations; and much more.
